When you want to create “shortcuts” to different files in a Linux system you have to create a Symbolic Link to that file. This is done using the ln command. In this article, we will cover the basic usage of the Linux ln command that you can experiment with on an SSH , SSD VPS or a Dedicated server.
Create a symbolic link
ln -s /path/to/shortcut/file /path/to/linked/file
Creating a link in interactive mode
By using the -i option you will be prompted for each action that you do
ln -si file /path/to/linked/file ln -sivfile /path/to/linked/file # This will also provide feedback
